How It Happened
UMass Lowell began the scoring 5:10 into the game, as Taylor Chianese took a Rachel Morrier pass on the right side of the box and put it the upper left corner.
The two teams played it even until the 88th minute, when the Rams drew a penalty kick after Allyson Reynolds was fouled in the scoring area. Nicole Brennan converted the PK and the two teams would head into extra time.
The Rams and River Hawks played an even 20 minutes of extra time. Rhode Island attempted three shots in OT to UMass Lowell's two.
