Ric Owls Rally Past Air Force in OT, 3-2

HOUSTON - The Rice soccer team overcame an early 2-0 deficit to claim a 3-2 overtime victory over visiting Air Force Saturday evening at Holloway Field in Houston.
After falling behind 2-0 on Falcon goals in the 21st and 23 minute, the Owls rallied to get one back in the 30th on Jenny Fichera's second goal of the season. In the second half, Rice junior Lauren Hughes tied the contest in the 66th minute and then won the game in the 97th with her second goal of the night.
Rice improved to 4-1-2 on the season, posting the team's sixth-consecutive match without a loss. The Owls next host Conference USA foe Southern Mississippi on Friday, Sept 26, at 7 pm to open league play.
