This weekend, the NWSL Challenge Cup kicks off, as women's professional soccer returns.
The combination of the spring season and the bulk of drafted players still in college has left just nine draftees on rosters heading into the Challenge Cup. Only three teams have any players from the draft rostered.
Obviously, more rookies will join up when the spring season ends and the regular NWSL season begins. But there should still be some rookies of intrigue to keep an eye on as the month-long competition takes place.
