'Roos fall 2-0 to Bluejays
(Kansas City, Mo.) – Coming in as an underdog against the favored Creighton Bluejays, the UMKC women’s soccer team put up a tough battle. Unfortunately, the Bluejays two first half goals helped them to a 2-0 win.
In the first half, Creighton came out very aggressive as they mustered up eight shots compared to just one for the ‘Roos. In the 33rd minute, Jays’ forward Brittney Neumann scored a goal on a through-ball by forward/midfielder Lauren Cingoranelli.
Then, in the 38th minute, a solo goal was scored by defender/midfielder Erin Gunther.
As for the second half, the ‘Roos picked up the intensity to try to get back in the game. However, missed opportunities and mistakes plagued them.

This was the first loss of the season for the ‘Roos (0-1-2). As for Creighton, they moved to 2-0 on the season.
Up next for UMKC, is two-game road trip in the state of Florida as they travel play Florida International (Sept. 2) and Florida Atlantic (Sept. 4).
