Rosero Named MAAC Offensive Player of Week
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena Soccer junior striker Junior Rosero has been honored as the MAAC Wilson Offensive Player of the Week. The West Islip, N.Y. native tallied five points in a pair of ties last week for the Saints against America East frontrunners Hartford and New Hampshire.
The conference’s leading scorer with six points through the first two full weeks of play, Rosero recorded two goals and an assist for the week.
On Tuesday, he netted the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute to rally Siena late to earn a 1-1 tie against America East Preseason co-favorite Hartford. Saturday, Rosero posted a multi-point performance with a goal and an assist as the Saints tied a red-hot New Hampshire squad that had won its first two matches, 3-3.
Thanks in large part to Rosero’s performance last week, the Saints were able to extend their program record home unbeaten streak to 10 (6-0-4).
Rosero and the Saints return to action Tuesday when they open a season long five-match road trip with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Boston University.
