RU Women’s Soccer Falls 2-1 at Colorado Mines
GOLDEN, Colo.: Regis women's soccer (2-3-1, 0-2-1 RMAC) put up a fight against Colorado School of Mines, but failed to gain the advantage by the end of regulation play, causing the Rangers to fall 2-1.
The Orediggers' managed 18 shots in their favor, while putting on 10 and allowing the Rangers only three shots on goal in five total attempts.
Senior Meghan Stuart put the first goal through shortly into the third minute of play. Sophomore Sid Otto crossed in from the right of the 36 yard box for Stuart to send toward the goal, banking off the post and in to the left side of the goal.
Mines answered the goal shortly after in the fourth minute off a free kick from near midfield that found a Oredigger at the top of the 18 yard box.
The opposition scored again in the 30th minute off a penalty kick taken by Mines' forward Anna Evans.
Senior goalie Ellen Augsburger put in a command performance in between the posts for RU, posting eight saves in 10 shots on goal.
Regis will return home Sunday, September 29 at 3:30 p.m. where they will take on Colorado Mesa University at the Regis Match Pitch.
