Saints In The Pros & Summer Ball
LOUDONVILLE, NEW YORK – Former Siena Men’s Soccer standout Junior Rosero has taken his game oversees and highlights a list of current and former Saints looking to expand upon their game as summer 2019 approaches. Rosero has been a part of Swedish club Sodertalje FK since April, while several members of the current roster are competing in amateur summer leagues in-between their collegiate seasons.
A 2016 Siena alumnus, Rosero played three seasons for the Saints after transferring from Stony Brook prior to the 2014 campaign. A two-time Second Team All-MAAC selection during his final two seasons, the forward recorded 13 goals and nine assists in the Green and Gold, finishing his career tied for fourth in program history with five game-winning scores.
Following graduation, the West Islip, New York native signed on with the USL2’s Long Island Rough Riders before signing overseas on April 1, 2019 with Sodertalje FK, which competed in Sweden’s third division.
"We’re so happy to see Junior fulfilling his dreams,” head coach Cesar Markovic said. “His love for soccer has always driven him towards this moment. Junior did a tremendous amount of work after training every single day. He transformed his body and sharpened his game with all the extra work. He deserves this."
Aside from Rosero, nine current members of Siena Soccer are using the summer in-between seasons to train by participating in amateur Premier or United Soccer League clubs both in the United States and elsewhere.
