San Jose State Defeats CSUB 3-0
SAN JOSE, Calif.—San Jose State (1-1-1) defeated CSU Bakersfield (0-3) 3-0 Friday night.
The Spartans took an early lead when Kacey Gricius scored in the fourth minute. Mikaella Meibock scored at 10:03 for a 2-0 San Jose State advantage. Meibock scored again in the 59th minute for the Spartans.
"(I am) disappointed, especially because we had some chance," said CSUB head coach Melissa Phillips. "We need to make sure we don't let teams get the better of us so early on in the game. We played well, the score may not reflect that, but as a team, we are growing and improving with every opportunity provided to us. As a unit in the group and despite our tough tests on the road, I am excited to play in front of all of our Roadrunner fans Sunday."
The Roadrunners open the home slate Sunday night when CSUB hosts the University of San Francisco at 7 p.m.
