Seven Named Men's Soccer All-Academic

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has announced the 2017 Men's Soccer All-Academic Team. The Iona College program had seven student-athletes earn the distinction.
To qualify for the All-Academic Team, student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
The Gael representatives include seniors Joshua Calderon and Luis Mendoza. Juniors Humbert Ferrer, Chris Nash and Kellar Sirstins are joined by sophomores Malcolm Moreno and George Tsevdos.
Sirstins, Calderon, and Ferrer are repeat All-Academic Team honorees.
Marist College placed a league-best 10 student-athletes on the All-Academic team while Fairfield University, Niagara University and Quinnipiac University each had nine student-athletes honored. Canisius College and Rider University had eight student-athletes on the All-Academic team while Iona College, Saint Peter's University and Siena College each placed seven student-athletes on the All-Academic team. Manhattan College had six All-Academic team honorees while Monmouth University had four student-athletes recognized on the All-Academic team.
A total of 84 student-athletes were named to the 2017 MAAC men's soccer All-Academic Team.
