Soccer Plays to Draw
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer extended its unbeaten streak Thursday against Lipscomb with a 1-1 draw.
The Commodores came out firing on all cylinders in the first half, scoring just seven minutes into the contest to improve their goal tally to 17 on the season. Raegan Kelley put her team up 1-0 off a feed from Abena Aidoo but despite outshooting the Bisons 14-10, the Commodores were unable to capitalize again as they ultimately played to the draw.
Vanderbilt carried their early lead into the half, with Kate Devine registering two saves in the first 45 minutes.
The visiting Bisons found the equalizer less than two minutes into the second half to end the Commodores’ bid at the program shutout record.
Goals
- The captain, Kelley, wasted no time getting the Commodores on the board Thursday night, scoring her third of the season in the seventh minute to make it a 1-0 game. Abena Aidoo recorded her first assist as a Commodore on the play, beating the defender on the near side before finding a wide-open Kelley inside the six-meter box who tapped a shot home.

- Devine finished the night with three saves and one goal against through 90 minutes in goal.
