<p>Stony Brook University Head Men&rsquo;s Soccer Coach Ryan Anatol has announced the addition of two new members to the roster for the upcoming 2012 season. Junior transfer Marius Krathe (Saltnes, Norway) and incoming freshman Christian Argueta (Brentwood, N.Y.) join the reigning America East champion Seawolves.</p> <p>Krathe, a 6-3 defender transferring from South Florida, played in 28 games and started 21 in two seasons with the Bulls. He led the team as a freshman with three assists. Prior to USF, Krathe was a member of the Norwegian U17 and U18 National Teams and played in the 2007 Nordic Championships against England, Sweden, Denmark and Belgium. He also played with KVIK Halden and Fredrikstad FK.</p> <p>Argueta, a 5-10 forward, played with the Northport Cow soccer club that was New York East state cup champions in 2011 and was a captain of the Brentwood High School team that was back-to-back Suffolk County champion in 2010 and 2011 and Long Island and New York State Champions in 2010. Argueta was an All-League and All-Conference player at Brentwood in 2011.</p> <p>"We are very excited to add Marius and Christian to our team," Anatol said. "Marius has very good experience having already played in a lot of big collegiate games. Christian is quick and powerful and we expect him to develop into a very good player at Stony Brook."</p> <p>The pair will join a recruiting class that includes South Florida transfer Shane Wixted, Florida Gulf Coast transfer Ryan Price, Monroe Junior College transfer Mamadou Balde and incoming freshmen Myles Bent, James Brostowski, Jesse Inkles, Martin Giordano and Troy Manheimer.</p> <p>"This class provides a good balance of young talent and experienced student-athletes, who have already played in conference championship and NCAA Tournament games," Anatol said. "This group will impact this program immediately. Special credit needs to be given to assistant coaches Dannie Merida and Phil Ruskin in helping to put together this class, which we expect will raise the level of this program for the future."</p> <p>The 10 newcomers will join nine returning starters and 15 returning letterwinners from last season's team that captured the program's third America East Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. In Anatol's first season as head coach, the Seawolves were 10-6-4.</p>
