Syracuse Defeats Women's Soccer

Syracuse scored off a trio of set pieces to defeat Siena Women’s Soccer 3-0 in Central New York. Taylor Dorado stopped six shots for the Saints.
Shannon Aviza (22’) and Sydney Brackett (62’) both scored off corner kicks for Syracuse (2-0), with a penalty kick from Taylor Bennett (48’) sandwiched in between.
The Orange held a slight 15-10 advantage in shots and a 4-1 margin in corners.
Jayanna Monds and Caitlin Wania paced Siena (0-3) offensively with a pair of shots apiece.
Lysianne Proulx stopped five shots to record the shutout in goal for Syracuse.
The Saints conclude their season-opening four-match road trip on Labor Day with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Cornell.
