Tar Heel internationals set to leave UNC
North Carolina(w) standouts Lotte Wubben-Moy and Alessia Russo have announced that they are leaving the program ahead of what would've been their final seasons.
The English youth national team veterans each announced their decision on their respective social media accounts. The duo were each entering their fourth and final season at Chapel Hill.
Wubben-Moy made 62 appearances in three seasons, scoring six goals and adding 12 assists, playing predominantly as a center back. Russo, who had her 2018 season cut short due to a broken leg, scored 28 goals and setup nine more in 57 appearances for the ACC side. Both are likely to sign professional contracts in Europe.
While it remains possible that the ACC could still attempt to play competitive games in the fall, nothing is official at this time.
