TDS Division I Women's Top 25: Sept. 5
While the Top 10 clash between Florida and Florida State ended up being canceled due to inclement weather, there was still a glut of action between top programs over the past week.
The results shift the picture in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com DI Women's Top 25, even as the top five teams remain unchanged.
Another in-state rivalry ended up being moved back a night, though South Carolina and Clemson eventually clashed on Saturday night. The former managed a 2-1 victory, thanks to a pair of goals from Savannah McCaskill. The Gamecocks moved into the Top 25 on the strength of that win.
UCLA moves up into the No. 11 spot thanks to its 1-0 home victory against Penn State. Midfielder Jessie Fleming continued to impress, heading home the overtime winner in Westwood.
It was an up-and-down stretch for Ohio State. Now checking in at No. 12, the Buckeyes secured an upset win against No. 17 Virginia Tech on Thursday night. They couldn't solve No. 4 West Virginia, falling 2-1 in Morgantown to wrap up the two-game stretch.
Also moving up the rankings despite a loss was No. 12 Minnesota. The Gophers matched up against No. 5 Duke, coming up just short in a 1-0 defeat, moving the Big Ten side to 5-1 on the season.
Checking into the Top 25 this week along with South Carolina are Notre Dame and Georgetown.
