WATERTOWN, N.Y. - Sept. 22 - Mark Tellgren (Springville, N.Y./Springville) scored two goals to power the Erie Community College men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Jefferson CC Saturday afternoon. Tellgren now has a team-high six goals for the Kats, now 5-4.

 

Jefferson CC opened the scoring with a goal in the eighth minute before Tellgren tied the contest five minutes later.Phil Karlstrom (Silver Creek, N.Y./Silver Creek) picked up the assist. Freshman Waheb Noman (Lackawanna, N.Y./Lackawanna) gave ECC a 2-1 lead in the 34th minute with the assist going to Otuken Gildo (Buffalo, N.Y./East). Tellgren netted the Kats' third goal in the 89th minute. Taylor Sentz (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) was credited with the assist. Rich Bund (Silver Creek, N.Y./Silver Creek) made 11 saves for the win.

 

ECC will play Alfred State at 5 p.m. Thursday at Jim Ball Stadium.
