Terriers’ Gabriel Bagot Garners Adidas/Northeast Conference Player of the Week Award
Brooklyn Heights, New York---Sophomore forward Gabriel Bagot has been selected as the Adidas/Northeast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the Northeast Conference in their weekly release. For Bagot, it is his first honor.
The native of Nevers, France struck for two goals, including a game-winner, to lead St. Francis (NY) to a 2-0-0 record last week. The second-year forward got his team its first win of the 2011 season last Wednesday against Hofstra Universivity when he connected off a pass from teammate and senior tri-captain Robbie Weir in just the 13th minute of play, sealing a 1-0 victory against the Pride.
He was able to double his goal total after recording a goal against Howard on September 11th. Spung off a fee from junior Adam Maabdi, Bagot struck from twenty yards out for the game’s first goal with 11:43 elapsed. The Terriers went on to win the contest, 2-1, and even their season record at 2-2-1.
Bagot currently leads the team with two goals and five points. In his young career, he has recorded six goals, two assists for 14 points.
