Charleston, W.Va- The University of the District of Columbia Men's Soccer Team traveled to Charleston, WVA, falling to the University of Charleston 3-0.  The Golden Eagles were paced by Rob Vincent who had two goals on the day.  With the Loss the Firebirds fall to 4-2-1 while the Golden Eagles advance to 4-3.

The first half was hard fought, and the game was tied 0-0 at halftime.  Charleston led the game in shots nine to three after the first 45 minutes.  But the game began to swing to Charleston in the 56th minute as Ryan Osborne found Rob Vincent who scored his first tally of the game past UDC netminder Kyle Heatherington.  Only seven minutes later the Golden Eagles found the back of the net once again on the foot of Vincent.  Charleston maintained control for the balance of the game, netting their third goal in the 82nd minute compliments of Marshall Ngobidi.  The Firebirds only managed eight shots on the day to Charleston's 21.

UDC Head Coach Matt Thompson had this to say about the game, "We played pretty well in the first half today, but we need to find a way to get into better position to score goals.  We played hard, but we need more offensive options.  We have a quick turnaround, so we can't spend too much time lamenting over the loss…have to get back to work on Wednesday."

The Firebirds return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Dobbs Ferry, NY to take on Mercy College at 3:00 pm.
