The University of the District of Columbia Soccer Youth Day a Success
Washington DC – The UDC Soccer Team hosted a youth day on Saturday. The event was a tremendous success as over 20 area high school and middle school soccer players came to the UDC Soccer Field to participate.
The UDC Soccer coaching staff welcomed the campers and introduced the UDC team. From 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Coach Thompson and the Soccer Team hosted a skills clinic. The clinic focused on passing, receiving, possession, and shooting. The UDC players worked with small groups to teach the game to the eager high school and middle school players. The clinic finished with a group photo of the UDC players, campers, and the UDC Soccer Coaching Staff.
After the clinic the campers were able to receive autographs from the UDC Soccer Team members, which was a thrill for both the campers and the players. The campers were also able to take pictures with the UDC Firebird Mascot.
After the autograph session, the campers were able to enjoy some fun music and view both UDC and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown warm-ups. At 2:00 UDC took on Johnstown and defeated them by a score of 2-1.
