Tremblay Repeats as MAAC Player of the Week
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – For the second consecutive week, Siena Women’s Soccer junior midfielder Michele Tremblay has earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. The Goffstown, New Hampshire native recorded her second straight two-goal match, and scored the game-winning goal in the Saints’ conference-opening 4-2 victory over Iona Saturday.
Tremblay set the tone early against the Gaels, opening the scoring in the fifth minute. Her second goal of the afternoon just 108 seconds into the second half increased the Siena advantage to two, and would prove to be the game-winner as the reigning MAAC Champions opened their title defense victorious.
Tremblay was previously named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career last week, after recording her first collegiate multi-goal match in the Saints’ 4-2 victory over LIU Brooklyn in the non-conference finale. Following her back-to-back two goal efforts, she now ranks tied for second in the MAAC in goals (four) and tied for fifth in points (eight).
Tremblay and the Saints return to action and continue conference play Saturday when they head to Fairfield for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
