U23 Women's NT Heads to Camp at HDC
The U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team returns to action with a training camp from May 13-20 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. U.S. head coach Randy Waldrum has called in 24 players, including four former WPS players and several players who were top picks in the WPS draft before the league suspended operations for this season. Six players have represented the USA in a FIFA Women’s World Cup either at the U-17 or U-20 age levels. Waldrum’s squad will scrimmage the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team twice during the camp, squaring off on May 15 and 17 at 3 p.m. PT; as the younger age group is in the midst of preparing for the 2012 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Japan. Fourteen players on the U.S. roster still have college eligibility remaining while nine are playing for USL W-League or WPSL clubs this summer.
