UCSB Defeats Bakersfield 3-0
SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--UC Santa Barbara defeated Bakersfield 3-0 in women's soccer play Friday night.
The Gauchos' opening goal came in the fourth minute when Geneve Dromensk connected on an Indiana Mead crossing pass. UCSB scored again in the 63rd minute when Dakota Griggs got behind the 'Runner defense and knocked it in. Morgan Idso made it 3-0 in the 79th minute.
"We are on a verge of turning a corner with our play," said Bakersfield head coach Melissa Phillips. "We need to get everyone doing their jobs consistently. This team has every desire to be a top team in all the right ways. We just have to piece things together."
The Roadrunners conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule Sunday night when Bakersfield hosts UC Riverside at 7 p.m.
