UDC Men’s Soccer Ties East Stroudsburg 1-1 in Two Overtimes
East Stroudsburg, PA – UDC captain forward Bakary Coulibaly (Hyattsville, MD/ Mali - La Lumiere HS) continued his scoring surge as the Firebirds ended the game in a 1-1 tie after two overtimes. It is the fourth game of the year that the Firebirds have taken into double overtime. The game tying goal by Coulibaly is his third of the year, scoring a goal in each of the last three games. The Firebirds sit at 6-3-3 on the year while the Warriors record lies at 4-6-3.
East Stroudsburg junior Stephen Miller gave the Warriors the lead with his first career goal in the 37th minute, but UDC scored with just 56 seconds left in regulation. ESU held a 25-9 advantage in shots on the day, and the game seemed all but lost for UDC until the final minute of the game as Coulibaly finished off a goal assisted by freshman midfielder Ben Diaz(Silver Spring, MD/El Salvador - Northwood HS). The assist was Diaz's second of the year.
