UE Women’s Soccer Signs Seven
University of Evansville women’s soccer head coach Krista McKendree and her staff announced the signing of seven student-athletes that will continue their athletic and academic careers at UE. The Purple Aces’ signing class includes four student athletes from Indiana and one each from Nevada, New York, and Ohio.
The 2015 UE women’s soccer signing class includes: Morgan Langhammer (Cincinnati, Ohio / Badin), Molly Lear (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern), Tess Lombard (Evansville, Ind. / Central), Paige Niemeier, (Evansville, Ind. / Mater Dei), Sara Osinski (Carmel, Ind. / Guerin Catholic), Sierra Pagan (Las Vegas, Nev. / Palo Verde), and Jessica O’Shaugnessy (Bayshore, N.Y. / Sayville).
“I would like to officially welcome these seven young ladies and their families into the Aces family,” said Evansville head coach Krista McKendree. “I am confident that they will be great representatives of the University, the athletics department, and our program. It is great to be able to continue to expand the reach of our program. That is a testament to the work our staff continues to put forth to recruit such high quality student athletes. They each personify the characteristics that will continue to push our program forward and are just as anxious for the fall as the current team.”
MORGAN LANGHAMMER
Cincinnati, Ohio (Badin)
Notable: Played four years of soccer for head coach Todd Berkely, winning back to back State Championships…was named Comeback Player of the Year and first Team All-Conference in 2013. In 2014, she was named Offensive Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-Conference and an OHSSA Athletic Scholar…was a State Cup Finalist on her club team, FOSC Red Swarm…competed in track for one season.
MOLLY LEAR
Fishers, Ind. (Hamilton Southeastern)
Notable: Played three years of soccer for head coach Greg Davidson…Sectional Champions, Regional Champions and conference champions twice…Semi-State Champs and a State Runner Up once. Tallied 10 goals and 10 assists in 2014. Totaled 17 goals and 25 assists in her career. Lear’s awards include First-Team All-District, All HCR Daily Team, HC Sports Daily Super Team, ISCA Second-Team All-State, ICGSA Second-Team All-State, All-County First-Team and Offensive MVP in 2014…played Club Soccer for FC Pride and Carmel United.
TESS LOMBARD
Evansville, Ind. (Central)
Notable: Played four years of soccer for head coach Dan Brown…in 2013, she was First-Team All-City, SIAC, All-District as well as All-State Honorable Mention. In 2014, Lombard was First-Team All-City, SIAC, All-Metro, All-District as well as Second-Team All-State…in her senior season, Lombard was the SIAC leading scorer (20 goals) and points leader (43). She also totaled three hat tricks…Three-time offensive MVP in soccer… Played club soccer for FC of Evansville. Her 2014 club team was President’s Cup Champions, President’s Cup Regionals Champions, and President’s Cup Nationals 3rd Runner Up…Also played three years of basketball in high school. She was twice named the Offensive MVP and twice declared the Defensive MVP.
PAIGE NIEMEIER
Evansville, Ind. (Mater Dei)
Notable: Played four years of varsity soccer for head coach Rob Schoenstein…2014 State Runner-Ups…Sectional Champions in 2011 and 2012…team captain for Mater Dei in 2014…played club soccer for Evansville Football Club. The team placed 3rd in 2014 National Tournament and was State Champions in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014..also competed in track for four years.
SARA OSINSKI
Carmel, Ind. (Guerin Catholic)
Notable: Played four years of soccer for head coach Reinford Hunter…All-State Third Team, Top Team Player, and Team MVP in 2014…ISCA All-Academic Team in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014…All-State 2D Team in 2012…played club soccer for the Indiana Fire Juniors. The team advanced to Nationals as a club in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
SIERRA PAGAN
Las Vegas, Nev. (Palo Verde)
Notable: Played two years of varsity soccer for head coach Frank Messina…2012 and 2013 Scholar Athlete Award at Palo Verde...Certificate of Appreciation for CCSD Special Olympics….played club soccer for Heat FC ’96 and ’97. The team was 2014 Surf Cup Winners and 2015 Vegas Cup Winners…she is the sister of current UE women’s soccer player Tatiana Pagan.
JESSICA O’SHAUGNESSY
Bayshore, N.Y. (Sayville)
Notable: Played soccer for head coach Joe Nasta…2014 Newsday All-Long Island Team and SCGSCA Small School Player of the Year…Named NYSCOGS First Team Small School All-State in 2013 and 2014…2013 League 5 New York State Player of the Year…Suffolk County All-Conference in 2012, 2013 and 2014…Suffolk County All-County in 2012, 2013 and 2014…NYS All-League in 2012, 2013, and 2014…Newsday Second Team All-Long Island in 2013…Team was Suffolk County Champions in 2010 and 2013…played club soccer for ISA Thunder 97 NPL. The team was 2-time Disney Soccer Showcase Champions, a 2014 Disney Showcase Finalist, National Elite Women’s Soccer Showcase Semifinalist, and MSSL Summer Showcase Champion.
