UW-Whitewater Players All-Region, All-State
Kevin Kron and Josh Chamberlain were named National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III All-North Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Kron earned first team all-region honors and Chamberlain was named to the third team. Three teammates joined the duo on the All-Wisconsin State Division III honor team that was announced in conjunction with the all-region squad.
Kron, a senior forward, was First Team All-Wisconsin State and added Offensive Player of the Year honors for the All-Wisconsin State teams. Kron led UW-W in goals with ten, points with 23, and in game winning goals, three, while adding three assists on the season.
Chamberlain, a junior midfielder, earned third team all-region honors to add to First Team All-Wisconsin State recognition for 2011. Chamberlain, who had one goal and one assist on the season, played a role in helping the Warhawk defense record seven shutouts and allow just five shots on goal per game this season.
Three other Warhawks added All-Wisconsin State Team recognition, including second team honorees Ryan Boyd and Logan Fye, with Aaron Sesselmann received honorable mention honors.
Boyd, a senior midfielder recorded five goals and one assist this season to total 11 points, fourth highest on the team. Fye, a junior midfielder, is a repeat selection to the All-Wisconsin State Team, and Fye recorded the second highest UW-Whitewater totals in goals (9), assists (3) and points (21). Sesselmann, a junior goalkeeper, recorded 44 saves, a 1.14 goals against average and three shutouts with a 9-4 record this season.
