Van Siclen named PL Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After scoring her first-career goal vs. Temple Friday, Lehigh women's soccer freshman Rebecca Van Siclen was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday. Van Siclen opened the scoring against the Owls, helping the Mountain Hawks to an impressive 2-0 win, Lehigh's fourth straight victory vs. Temple. The weekly award is Lehigh's first of the season.
Van Siclen's goal came at the 52:43 mark. She was in the middle of the action most of the day, posting a career-high four shots (all on goal). Van Siclen had more shots on goal (4) than the entire Temple team (2) as Lehigh finished with a 20-6 edge in total shots, in a dominant all-around effort.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Towson to face the Tigers in their final tune-up before Patriot League play. Opening kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
