BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Maggie Wadsworth has been named a preseason All-Patriot League honoree while the Lehigh women's soccer team was picked fifth in the preseason poll, as announced on Tuesday. The Mountain Hawks are coming off two straight Patriot League Tournament berths, earning the No. 5 seed last season. Lehigh finished tied for fourth with 17 points, just two points out of third and four points behind second in a tight top of the league standings.
 
The Mountain Hawks garnered 98 points in the preseason poll, trailing Navy (154), Boston University (142), Colgate (125) and Bucknell (118). Lehigh was ahead of Army West Point (72), Lafayette (63), Holy Cross (59), Loyola (37) and American (26). Voting was done by the league coaches and Sports Information Directors.
 
Wadsworth garnered preseason All-Patriot League following a breakout sophomore campaign which saw her tally 11 points (second on Lehigh) behind five goals (tied for first) and two assists. A third team All-League honoree following the season, Wadsworth did damage about Patriot League opponents, tallying a goal and assist in Lehigh's 2-0 win over Loyola while also scoring a goal in each of the previous two games – at Bucknell and Lafayette.
 
The Mountain Hawks open their season on Sunday, Aug. 19 when they travel to Saint Joseph's to face the Hawks. Opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
