Wahle Does It Again, Lifts Panthers to 2-1
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) did it again Sunday afternoon as he helped the Panthers to a 2-1 victory over visiting Lake Erie, his second game winning goal in the last two games.
In the last two games, Wahle has scored all four goals, two of which have been game winners. On the season, he has five goals.
Ohio Dominican (7-2-1; 6-2 GLIAC) opened the scoring in the sixth minute of the game when senior Billy McGlone (Lexington, Ohio) played a cross from the left side of the field into the box to an awaiting Wahle, who then connected to the bottom right corner of the net.
At the 21:44 mark Lake Erie's (5-5-1; 4-5 GLIAC) evened the score 1-1, after Alfred Majer sent a cross to the box and Campbell hit home the tying goal to the right side of the net.
With the clock winding down and six minutes to play, junior Frazer Fernandes (Gahanna, Ohio) played the ball down field, which found the feet of Wahle, who blasted the game winning goal from 13 yards.
Sophomore Macklin Robinson (Cincinnati, Ohio) improved his record to 5-2-1 and collected two saves in net tonight.
For the game, the Panthers dominated on offense, outshooting the Storm 16-6, including 10 shots on goal.
