Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s soccer team exploded for five goals on a wet and rainy Saturday afternoon, as the Warriors rolled past Concordia University 5-1.

Five different players scored as Tech had its biggest offensive output of the season to push its record to 7-4-2 on the year and 3-1-2 in the WHAC. The Cardinals dropped to 6-7-2 and 3-3-1 in league play.

In the 25th minute, Jammar Allison (Brampton, Ont./Davis & Elkins) sent a cross into the box for Aultain Gaye (Grand Rapids, MI/Grand Rapids Central) who headed it past the Cardinal keeper to put the Warriors on top 1-0.

Freshman Nick Didion (Ft. Wayne, IN/Blackhawk Christian), making his first start of the season, punched in the second goal of the day for the Warriors in the 40th minute. After Concordia attempted to clear a Tech corner kick, the ball bounced out to Didion, who delivered a right-footed strike from just outside the 18 into the back of the net.

Indiana Tech struck again just over two minutes later when Gaye found Will Johnson (Ft. Wayne, IN/) who gave the Warriors a commanding 3-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Bryce Collier (Springfield, MO/Crowder) padded the lead with his first goal of the season when he headed a cross from Robbie Kiernan (Dublin, Ireland/North Iowa Area) into the goal at the 52:32 mark.

Concordia got on the board in the 59th minute to cut the Warrior lead to three. After Tech was whistled for a handball at the top of the 18-yard box, Jonathan Heslop blasted a free kick into the right side of the net.

That would be all the offense for the Cardinals though, and senior Alex Sesay (Glendale, MD/Duval) added an exclamation point for the Warriors scoring in the 86th minute to give Tech the 5-1 win.

Junior keeper Reece Richardson (Halifax, England/Ryburn Valley) made six saves on the day. Indiana Tech held statistical advantages in shots (21-14) and corner kicks (4-1) as well.

The Warriors return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 when they host Madonna University at 7 p.m.
