Women’s Soccer Drop Match 2-4 to #24 Rollins
DENVER, Colo.: Regis University women’s soccer dropped 2-4 to Rollins College in Denver today. Although the Rangers scored first, the Tars had enough momentum to score four goals.
In the 10th minute of the match, senior Marissa Davis gained possession of the ball at the 18-yard box in front of the goal. She took a few touches before putting it through to the back of the net for the Rangers first goal.
Two minutes after the Ranger goal, the Tars put up their first goal of the match. It would not be their last however as the team would score two more goals in the half bringing the score to 3-1 going into the second half.
Early in the half, freshman Kate Pellegrino placed a goal of her own in between the Tars’ posts. She took the shot off a cross from junior Meghan Stuart.
Rollins put up one more insurance goal in the 79th minute of play.
Junior Ellen Augsburger and freshman Brianna Randall split time in goal for the Rangers. Augsburger allowed three goals while Randall allowed one and saved four others.
Regis will travel to Texas to take on Incarnate Word at 3:30 PM on Friday, September 7th before challenging St. Edwards at 12:30 PM on Sunday, September 9th.
