Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's soccer team returns home to Hameline Field following a two-match road trip as they host the Temple University Owls on Sunday afternoon.
Last Time Out: at Hartford (September 13, 2018 | Lost, 1-0)
- A goal in the 16th minute from Hartford proved to be the difference as Hartford defeated Wagner 1-0 victory on Thursday evening.
- In the 16th minute, the home team got what turned out to be the only goal of the match as Vitiello was able to beat junior netminder, Delaney Beck, with a low shot off a rebound.
- Wagner's chance came in the 40th minute when Madison Starr rocketed a shot attempt on goal that was turned aside by Hartford's Maia Perez for her only save in the contest.
- Beck was able to keep Wagner in the contest by recording seven saves on the next ten shots in the first half, before adding four more following intermission, to finish the contest with a career-tying 11 saves.
- This marked the third time in her career she has stopped 11 shots and first since posting 11 stops on the road at Northeast Conference (NEC) member, Central Connecticut (10/20/17).
Wagner – Temple Series History:
- This afternoon's contest between the Seahawks and the Owls marks the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools with Temple leading the head-to-head series, 6-0.

- Wagner has only played against one current member of the American Athletic Conference (Temple).
About The Temple University Owls:
- The Owls enter this afternoon's match with a 3-5 overall record. Despite dropping the season opener against Saint Joseph's, Temple rattled off three straight wins, including their first against fellow NEC member, Sacred Heart.
- The Owls will look to stop a season-high four-match losing after falling on Friday to NJIT, 1-0.
- After defeating fellow Northeast Conference (NEC) member, Sacred Heart, 3-2, in the season opener back on August 17, Iona has dropped its next four matches, all by one goal, most recently on the road at Albany, falling 2-1, on Friday afternoon.
- Emma Wilkins leads the Owls in goals scored (4) and points (8) while Kerri McGinley (2 g, 1 a) is second with five points.
- Morgan Basileo has played in seven games for the Owls, giving up eight goals (1.23 GAA) while registering 50 saves on the season (.862 save percentage).
- Jordan Nash has appeared in two games, allowing four goals and saving four shots.
Beck-oned Call:
- Against America East member, Hartford, on September 13, junior goalkeeper Delaney Beck made her first start of the 2018 season and turned out an impressive performance despite the outcome.
- Beck made 11 saves in the contest, seven of which coming in the first half of play.
- This marked the third time in Beck's Seahawk career that she recorded double-digit saves.
- The last time she accomplished the feat was back on October 20, 2017 against fellow Northeast Conference (NEC) member, Central Connecticut.
Seahawk Chart Toppers:
- Freshman forward Luisa Barone is among the top-ten in shots taken with 11.
- Junior Autumn Clark and freshman Gabby Cipriano are tied for the team lead with one assist.
- Senior goalkeeper, Katie Viscardi, has accounted for 22 saves this year (.647 save percentage).
- The senior netminder has produced 146 career stops, ranking fourth on the all-time career saves list, behind former Seahawk goalkeeper, Katie Marcy, who finished her career with 182 stops.

- Northeast Conference (NEC) play commences for Wagner as the Seahawks will travel to Moon Township, PA on September 21 as they will square off against Robert Morris.
