Women's Soccer Places 12; RMAC All-Academic
Women’s Soccer Places 12 on RMAC All-Academic Teams; Davis, Reeves and Kagawa to First
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: Regis women's soccer placed 12 on the RMAC All-Academic Teams. Seniors Marissa Davis and Maddie Reeves and sophomore Kendal Kagawa were named to the First Team while juniors Meghan Stuart and Alison Cahillwere named to the second team.
Davis, a midfielder from Golden, Colo., currently has a 3.65 GPA, while pursuing a degree in Health Professions. So far throughout the 2012 season, Davis leads the Rangers with seven goals and 17 points. She has also tallied three assists and a .400 shot on goal percentage.
Reeves has maintained a 3.85 GPA in four years, while pursuing a degree in Health Professions. This season, the defender has played in all 12 matches, scoring two goals and tallying one assist and a .625 shot on goal percentage putting five shots on goal out of eight attempts. Reeves is originally from Broomfield, Colo.
Native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kagawa has earned a 4.0 while studying Biological and Biomedical Sciences. She has played in all 12 matches throughout the 2012 season. She has netted one goal including one game-winner, while assisting on one other.
On Second team, Stuart has produced a 3.67 GPA, while majoring in Communication. While playing in all 12 matches, the forward has amassed two goals and 10 points while leading the Rangers with six assists. The native of Arvada, Colo. owns a .472 shot on goal percentage after putting 17 on out of 36 attempts.
Cahill owns a 3.70 GPA while studying Psychology. She has started all 12 matches as a defender for Regis this season, helping the Rangers to a 1.337 goals against average. After the 2011 season, the Boise, Idaho native was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Seven other Rangers were named to the RMAC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Seniors Chelsea Bokan, Katie King and Taylor White fall under that list. Bokan has maintained a 3.68 GPA while studying Business. King is earning her major in Social Sciences and owns a 3.36 GPA. White has a 3.65 GPA while earning her degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences.
Also named to the Honorable Mention team was junior Ellen Augsburger, sophomores Kiki Arnold and Rebecca Brunson and freshman Sade Akindele.
Augsburger's major remains undecided currently, while she also maintains a 3.40 GPA. Arnold holds a 3.60 GPA while undecided. Also, Brunson has totaled a 3.81 GPA while earning a degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Lastly, Akindele owns a 3.60 GPA while studying Business.
Regis will travel to N.M. Highlands on Friday, October 12th at 4:00 PM for their next RMAC competition.
