The Panthers continued to create multiple scoring opportunities late in the half but couldn't find the back of the net. Emily Masiello took two shots within a minute of each other, with the first coming in the 36th minute, but the ball sailed over the. In the 39th minute, Taylor Salmon missed an attempt high while Michelle Brown registered the final shot of the half in the 43rd minute that also drifted over the crossbar.

With the score deadlocked at 0-0, the game headed into the first overtime. Masiello missed a shot just high and on top of the net at the 92:30 mark which looked to be the best scoring chance for either side until the Owls' Jessica Spezzano had a clean look against Whitney and a wide open net in the 95th minute but was off the mark.
In the second period of overtime, the Owls carved out back-to-back scoring chances in the 102nd minute. Whitney made a lunging save, redirecting the ball off her fingertips for the save while the second threat was cleared out of the vacated net by the Adelphi defense.
