Staten Island, NY – Coming off of one of the biggest wins in program history, a 1-0 victory at Rhode Island of the Atlantic 10 Conference on Thursday, the Wagner College women's soccer team returns home to Grymes Hill to host the Iona College Gaels at Hameline Field on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

- Wagner picked up its first win of the 2018 season when the Seahawks earned a 1-0 victory on the road at the University of Rhode Island on Thursday evening, marking the first time that the Green & White have ever beaten an Atlantic 10 Conference foe after 19 and now stand at 1-17-1 against the A-10.
- With the win, the Green & White improves to 1-3 on the season, while the Rams fall to 0-4.
- Sophomore Le'la Allen delivered the game-winning strike in the 78th minute when she received the feed from newcomer Gabby Cipriano.
- For Allen, it marked her second career collegiate goal while Cipriano earned her first career assist in tonight's match.
Wagner – Iona Series History:
- Sunday's contest between the Seahawks and the Gaels marks the 12th all-time meeting between the two New York-based schools, with Iona holding a slim 5-4-2 advantage in the head-to-head series.
- These teams tied last season in New Rochelle, 2-2, back on September 10, 2017.
- Junior goalkeeper, Delaney Beck, made eight saves in the contest a season ago. .
Wagner vs. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference:
- Against the current 11 members of the MAAC, Wagner is a combined 31-76-9 all-time. This record includes contests against former NEC members, Monmouth and Quinnipiac.
- The Seahawks haven't played either program since 2012.
- Last season, the Green & White squared off against three MAAC schools (Rider, Saint Peter's and Iona), posting a 2-0-1 record as they last tied Iona, 2-2, back on September 10 in New Rochelle.
Viscardi Climbing The All-Time Saves List:
- Senior goalkeeper Katie Viscardi was credited with one save in the 1-0 shutout against University of Rhode Island on Thursday evening.
- For the Hazlet, NJ native, it marked the 136th career save of her Seahawk tenure.
- Additionally, the win marked Viscardi's fourth career, tying her with Ashley Wilson for second on the all-time career list.
- The program's all-time career mark for shutouts is 15, set by former Seahawk netminder, Katie Marcy.
About The Iona College Gaels:
- After defeating fellow Northeast Conference (NEC) member, Sacred Heart, 3-2, in the season opener back on August 17, Iona has dropped its next four matches, all by one goal, most recently on the road at Albany, falling 2-1, on Friday afternoon.
- Amber Crispin currently leads the Gaels with two goals and four points while teammate Ciara Guglielmo is second on the squad with three points (1 g, 1 a).
- In goal for Iona, Emma Havrilla, has started all five games, allowing six goals (1.33 GAA) while recording 17 saves thus far.
Up Next For Wagner:
- Wagner will hit the road for a pair of non-conference tilts, beginning on September 9 when the Seahawks travel to Stony Brook.
- From there, the Green & White conclude the two-match trip at Hartford on September 13 before returning home on September 16 to host Temple.
- The Gaels will close out their season-long five match road trip on September 9 as they square off against NEC-member, LIU Brooklyn.
