WV Wesleyan defeats Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg, Pa. – Men’s Soccer record a 1-0 win over Bloomsburg Huskies on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bobcat’s showed their bounce back ability from their defeat against Charleston over the weekend, thanks to a Richard Sho-Silva game winning header.
The first-half ended with neither team finding the breakthrough. However, just 5 minutes into the second-half, senior Matthew Brown delivered a great ball from a corner kick that was met by the unmarked Sho-Silva, who notched his third goal of the season.
Wesleyan grinded out the win, outshooting the Huskies 17-10 and outnumbering them 9-3 in corner kicks.
Derek Ayers made a total of 6 saves, whereas Bloomsburg’s goalkeeper Bernie Roell was forced to make 9 saves.
Men’s Soccer suffered a blow, when defender Thomas Capstick picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, meaning he will miss their next game.
The Bobcat’s are now 4-4-3 overall, and play again for homecoming on Saturday October 12 against Concord, with the kick-off scheduled for 7:00pm.
Wesleyan beat Concord earlier on this season in overtime 2-1.
