Wyoming Returns Home vs. Nevada and UNLV
For the first time in over a month, the University of Wyoming women's soccer team (2-5-1) returns to its home pitch for two matches this weekend. The Cowgirls face Nevada on Friday at 3 p.m. MT and UNLV on Sunday at 1 p.m. UW is coming off a scoreless draw at Northern Colorado last Friday and last played at home on Aug. 24th.
"The effort was great against UNC," UW head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "I felt we did everything right but just didn't finish our chances. These will be tough matches. It's just how conference games go since they're what could get you in or out of the tournament. Knowing that only six of 12 teams make it in adds pressure to games. It will be great to start conference play at home and have our crowd behind us."
Last time vs. Nevada - Wyoming trails in the series 3-5-1, with the last meeting on Oct. 5, 2013. In that match, Wyoming tied 1-1 with Nevada at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev. Nevada battled back late in the second half in the 83rd minute for a goal to tie the match. The game headed into two overtimes, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.
