YellowJackets Name New Head Women's Coach
(LONGVIEW, Texas)—LeTourneau University has named John Antonisse as the new head women’s soccer coach, announced athletic director Terri Deike.
“Through an extensive search, it became clear that Coach Antonisse provides our women’s soccer program with great leadership, a clear vision of developing women to be successful on and off the field and a tremendous knowledge of the game,” said Deike. “He is a proven coach who embodies LeTourneau University and our athletic program. We are tremendously blessed to have Coach Antonisse take over the reins of the women’s soccer program.”
Antonisse comes to LeTourneau after spending the last 17 years as the head coach at fellow American Southwest Conference member – University of Texas at Dallas. With a career mark of 208-94-34, he guided the comets to nine ASC championship games including titles in 2002 and 2004. In 2002, he led UTD to the NCAA Regional Finals and in 2011, a spot in the NCAA National Tournament. For his efforts, Antonisse earned recognition as conference coach of the year honors on three occasions.
In addition, he has had numerous student-athletes receive academic citations on the conference and national level and his teams have posted on multiple occasions the highest GPA within the university at UTD.
Antonisse has also shared his soccer knowledge in the community, earning the UTD Outstanding Service Award in 2003 and the Dallas Texans Youth soccer team. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and his master’s degree from Amberton University. In addition, he holds a United States Soccer Federation “A” coaching license and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Premiere coaching diploma.
