It's pretty much go-time for the high school fall sports season.

While several Midwestern states have been playing, most of the East Coast gets started this week -- a run of states from Maryland to Maine, which includes eight Top 25 girls teams and five Top 25 boys teams.

It's this time of year when results replace the hype.

Among the events of note this week, Baltimore area private school powers McDonogh School and Archbishop Curley will be taking on Pennsylvania counterparts in boys soccer contests that could shake up the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings. Meanwhile, the Lady Eagle Invitational will be the girls soccer focus with teams from four states clashing just outside of Indianapolis.

BIG MOVERS: BOYS: Wesleyan Christian (N.C.). A number of teams moved up eight spots this week as others fell from the rankings, but Wesleyan Christian was the only one that ended up in the Top 25. This North Carolina private school power is riding a 30-match undefeated streak. ... GIRLS: Baylor School (Chattanooga, Tenn.). Like Wesleyan Christian, Baylor's lengthy undefeated streak -- now at 24 matches -- has this team back in the Top 25.

NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 25 St. Charles North (St. Charles, Ill.), No. 43 Whitefish Bay (Wis.), No. 44 Beavercreek (Ohio), No. 45 East Kentwood (Kentwood, Mich.), No. 46 Park Hill South (Riverside, Mo.), No. 47 Salem (Canton, Mich.), No. 48 Fort Collins (Colo.) and No. 49 Detroit Catholic Central (Novi, Mich.). ... GIRLS: No. 33 Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers, Ind.), No. 35 Fishers (Ind.) and No. 45 Toledo Notre Dame (Toledo, Ohio).
