HS: Fall All-America Watch List update
One boys player scoring a ton of goals and girls player who scored a meaningful goal are added to the TopDrawerSoccer Fall All-America list this week.
In New York, Chris Gurcan has been the primary offensive reason that FAB 50 No. 2 St. Anthony's is off to a 7-0 start entering this week’s play.
The senior forward has scored eight goals and added two assists this season. His five-goal performance during three wins last week helped elevate him to the All-America Watch List.
“Chase is a two-year starter for us and has developed into an integral part of our program,” St. Anthony’s assistant coach Don Corrao said. “Tremendously hard worker with a nose for the goal.”
Gurcan, who previously played club for HBC Titans and now with South Huntington Lightening, made significant contributions in St. Anthony’s state title run last fall.
In Pennsylvania, Laurel Carpenter’s late goal gave girls FAB 50 No. 19 Peters Township a 2-1 win over Canon-McMillan in a battle of top Pittsburgh-area teams last week.
The senior midfielder is coming off an All-league performance last year, and she is committed to West Virginia.
