HS: Final Spring state, region rankings
It wasn't the final touch of the national high school season -- but awfully close.
Jordyn Ostrowski's goal near the end of the second 15-minute overtime session carried D.C. Everest (Schofield, Wis.) to a 1-0 win over Kettle Moraine (Wales, Wis.) in the Wisconsin Division I state final, which marked the final high school soccer match of the 2014-15 school year.
Ostrowski's goal came in the 104th minute. D.C. Everest slowed the tempo and wound out the final six minutes for its first state title, which leads to a final No. 1 state ranking and secures the team spot in the final SIMA FAB 50.
Also, Jen Brien's two goals helped Oregon (Oregon, Wis.) to the Division 2 state title to cap an undefeated season and the state's overall No. 2 spot.
The boys high school season ended last week.
