HS: MAST adds international bracket

MONTVERDE, Fla. -- The Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament already stands as an elite tournament for high school soccer winter teams, now it's going international.

The school confirmed it is adding a four-team international bracket that will run parallel to the high school event, which will be held the second week in January. The international competition features youth teams from Feyenoord (Holland), Flamengo (Brazil), the U.S. Under-17 National Team and the host SIMA program.

All matches will be played at Montverde Academy, near Orlando, Fla.

The international schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Jan. 10

Flamengo vs. U.S. U17s, 5 p.m.

SIMA vs. Feyenoord, 7:15 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 12

U.S. U17s vs. Feyenoord, 3:30 p.m.

SIMA vs. Flamengo, 5:15 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 14

Flamengo vs. Feyenoord, 3:30 p.m.

SIMA vs. U.S. U17s, 5:15 p.m.

The MAST for high school teams will run Thursday, Jan. 12 through Saturday, Jan. 14.
