Sure, San Clemente (Calif.) and Loyola (Calif.) boys and Mater Dei (Calif.) girls are always a factor. But all three went into last week's tournaments as slight underdogs and emerged as champions.

San Clemente captured its Lotto Sport Western Showcase for the first time ever, blanking Servite (Calif.) 1-0 in the final. Loyola rolled to a 4-1 Adidas West Coast Showcase title over Paramount (Calif.). Mater Dei won the Mater Dei Invitational over San Clemente (Calif.) 2-0. 

All three title winners moved up in the state and regional rankings this week.
