HS: Spring FAB 50 rankings, June 12
The high school season has reached the final week.
This weekend, Michigan and Wisconsin will crown girls state champions, officially bringing high school soccer to a close for the 2017-18 school year. At this point, there are few moves left to be made.
The boys rankings are settled, with Wando (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) repeating as FAB 50 boys spring champions. The girls Top 10 is basically nailed down with Grandview (Aurora, Colo.) at No. 1 followed by three Illinois large-school powers.
BIG MOVERS: BOYS: Cosby (Midlothian, Va.). Cosby delivered on a projected strong season, winning the regional and state tournaments to jump from No. 22 to No. 8 in this week's FAB 50. ... GIRLS: Gull Lake (Richland, Mich.). In a week with little upward movement, Gull Lake's three-spot rise from No. 44 to No. 41 was the largest move among the ranked girls teams.
NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 29 [Stuart va-m] (Falls Church, Va.), No. 41 Frank Cox (Virginia Beach, Va.), No. 50 Bishop England (Charleston, S.C.). ... GIRLS: No. 28 W.T. Woodson (Fairfax, Va.), No. 42 Midland (Mich.), No. 50 Chapel Hill (N.C.).
