HS: State, region rankings, April 30
St. Charles North (St. Charles, Ill.) and West Des Moines Valley (Iowa) girls backed their lofty state, region and national rankings with 3-0 showings at the adidas Tournament of Champions over the weekend.
Things weren't as smooth for many ranked teams this week.
We are more than two months into the spring season and this week with major turnover.
On the boys side, Baylor School (Chattanooga, Tenn.) upset McCallie School (Chattanooga, Tenn.), allowing Baylor to vault to No. 1 in the state. Baylor's only losses this year are to Georgia opponents. McCallie settles in at No. 2 in Tennessee, ahead of Station Camp (Gallatin, Tenn.), which it defeated early in the season.
Broomfield (Colo.) girls vault to No. 1 in Colorado, knocking off former No. 1 Rocky Mountain (Fort Collins, Colo.). Brighton (Mich.) and Myers Park (Charlotte, N.C.) also move to No. 1 in their respective states following losses by last week's top-ranked teams.
