HS: Winter FAB 50 rankings, Jan. 29
As teams settle into their ranking order, movement is becoming limited.
Forty-seven of the 50 girls teams from last week remain in the FAB 50. There are only seven newcomers in the boys rankings.
The churn might start to pick up soon as teams dive into postseason play and start to get challenged yet once again.
Flower Mound (Texas) boys and Davis (Calif.) girls remain the FAB 50 top-ranked teams this week.
Now, on with the rankings ...
BIG MOVERS: BOYS: [San Antonio Lee tx-m] (San Antonio, Texas). Lee moved up nine spots, the largest move among last week's ranked teams. ... GIRLS: Tompkins (Katy, Texas). While a one-spot move generally is no cause for celebration, it does put this team on the doorstep of the FAB 50 No. 1 ranking. Tompkins inches up to No. 2 from No. 3 this week, in a week with very little change throughout the rankings.
NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 42 Creekside (St. Johns, Fla.), No. 45 Watsonville (Calif.), No. 46 Central Catholic (San Antonio, Texas), No. 47 Chaparral (Scottsdale, Ariz.), No. 48 Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.), No. 49 Cypress Lakes (Katy, Texas), No. 50 Hawaii Prep (Kamuela, Hawaii). ... GIRLS: No. 31 McKinney Boyd (McKinney, Texas), No. 48 Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and No. 50 West Lauderdale (Collinsville, Miss.).
