HS: Winter, Spring FAB 50, April 16
Dalton (Ga.) boys inherit the FAB 50 No. 1 ranking for the first time in a few years after the top two Virginia teams lost last week.
Dalton's move to No. 1 puts an interesting look on the spring national title chase. The top seven contenders each control their own destiny and none of them will go head-to-head this season.
Dalton, which is nearing the playoffs, is in command and will remain No. 1 as long as it wins. Kearney (Neb.), sporting a 22-match win streak, checks in at No. 2, followed by Clover (S.C.) and Jenks (Okla.). All four have perfect records.
On the girls side, high-scoring Paige Webber has Grand Blanc (Mich.) at No. 1.
This week marks the end of the Texas high school season as the top teams vie for state titles.
Now, on with the rankings ...
