FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: California (fall section only), Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (private), West Virginia, Wisconsin.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Monmouth commit Johnny Antunes netted the only goal in St. Benedict's 1-0 win over Holy Ghost prep Pa.). Three days later, the Gray Bees received goals from five players in a 5-1 win over Delran.

St. Ignatius opened postseason play with a 12-0 thrashing of Bedford. Pitt commits Hunter Gordon and Lawrence Karpeh were selected this week for the High School All-American Game.

McDonogh stayed undefeated with wins over Gilman and Loyola last week. Wake Forest commit Michael DeShields and George Mason commit Tunde Akinlosotu were named to the High School All-American Game roster.

Mason handled Wilmington 9-0 in its post season opener. Xavier commit Bryce Curran and Chicago commit Gary Zhao were selected for the High School All-America Game.

Dan Romain scored the only goal as West Orange edged Nutley 1-0 last week.

Evan Vare scored game-winning goal in overtime as Central Bucks East edged rival Central Bucks West 1-0. Vare then scored three goals in the team's 4-0 victory over Souderton, which also marked the 12th shutout for keeper Austin Prime.

Bill Checkovage scored three goals last week as Father Judge handled Downingtown East 5-2 and Archbishop Carroll 5-1.

Matt Zadel scored twice as Forest Hills Central defeated Caledonia 3-0 to claim a second straight district title in a group that includes perennial state title challenger East Kentwood.

Evanston posted a pair of playoff shutout victories last week, pushing the team's total to 21 shutouts on the season -- one shy of the school record and two shy of the state record. The Wildkits have allowed only one goal in its last 22 matches.
