Kelme's new shark skin cleats are supremely luxurious
April 8, 2009
{mosimage:125}A soccer boot brashly named "The One," made of shark leather and other National Geographic-worthy materials that will run you around $440 bucks, leads to one question:
Is all that really necessary?
Of course it isn’t.
But we love the luxurious, and it doesn’t get more opulent than "The One."
Kelme billed it as the most expensive and exclusive football boot currently used in the Spanish Football League, and produced a limited edition of 500 pairs that were sold strictly to order.
"The One" was the first model in the new Exclusive Products Development Department of Kelme, which will dedicate itself to leaving us all agape over the release of special edition products like this one.
Kelme proclaims "The One" to be the first boot in the market with what’s called ‘K-Fresh Air’ system technology - breathable and waterproof material that removes sweat from the shoe while still preventing water from entering the boot.
And if you weren’t able to get your hands on one of the 500 pairs released, rest assured, Kelme has more than few head-turning new models of cleat you’ll have to see to believe - including a shoe currently featured in the Swarovski Kristallwelten Museum in Austria.
We’ll feature them all here in our technology section just as soon as we can wrap our minds around them.

Manufactured from 90 percent shark leather, which is said to allow greater ball grip, "The One" is obviously water repellent.
