Strikerite training ball aids in striking the ball

The love for soccer is passed down through the generations in countries all around the world – Italy, Spain, Argentina, England, etc.  Children are born with soccer in their blood and hone their technique by being incubated playing and watching the sport all around them.  In America, where the sport of soccer is still a fledgling amongst giants like baseball and football, kids don’t always have an equal advantage.  It takes rigorous training and hours of practice to play at the competitive level.  Many of the parents of elite youth soccer players have never delved into the sport themselves.

Ex-professional soccer player Jimmy Frazelle, co-founder of the StrikeRite™ ball, found himself facing the challenge of training young players how to strike a ball – the movement and placement of the foot connecting with the ball target took hours of painstaking and individualized attention to each player, hours that Jimmy didn’t have.  He came up with the idea to paint the ball different colors

In a happenstance trip to Mexico, Jimmy drew on a soccer ball indicating where to kick the ball and began playing around with a few of the neighborhood kids who took to the marks and loved it.  That moment was the brainchild of the training tool that was to be known as the StrikeRite™ soccer ball.

Italian sport brand Erreà quickly adopted the StrikeRite™ under their umbrella.  The StrikeRite™ is marked by five different colors indicating exact point of contact on the ball.  The StrikeRite™ ball is accompanied by a training system DVD with explanatory videos, animations and exercise sheets for training sessions.  They’ve been endorsed by notable institutions like Fox Soccer Channel, Eurosport, Gol TV and elite soccer clubs in America.

The vision for the StrikeRite™ was to create a soccer culture and generation in the United States by teaching the fundamentals in a simple and fun way.  As a stationary product, it engrains in young players' muscle memory.

Rale Rasic, coach of the 1974 Australian World Cup team, says, “The StrikeRite™ encourages young players to keep practicing fundamental techniques for our modern game. I would recommend the StrikeRite™ as part of everyday practice and part of any training program."

Keep an eye out this summer for an advanced DVD from StrikeRite™ for the more experienced player ready to learn creativity and physics in their soccer game.
