The Rilo is Calle's newest street soccer shoe
The brand Calle is gaining a reputation for being everything that’s “street” about soccer. Their roots and inspiration come from Brazil, Spain and Bolivia. (Read more about Calle’s origins HERE).
Calle’s vision is to be different from the rest of the soccer industry. They are distinctly soccer, but come at it with a different angle. They’re not just street – they are avant garde and fashion savvy.
“Show your style and love how you look in it,” says Josh Robbins of Calle.
Calle is coming out with a new shoe, the Rilo. As with everything else, the origins of the Rilo came from people who play soccer and what they want. The most common desire has been for a better indoor shoe. Indoor shoes don’t last long on the street and don’t have the aesthetics that kids look for to wear as street wear. They created some prototypes and gave them to people to try out. After some tweaking, they cranked out a new shoe line that includes all the aspects that soccer players are looking for.
The outsole on your everyday indoor shoe wears down fast. Calle fixed this problem by creating an outsole that’s four times as thick. Players can play soccer to their heart’s content and not pay for it by buying a new pair of shoes every couple of months. Calle put hypalon in the toe and heel of the Rilo to prevent shoes from getting scuffed. Hypalon is brand spanking new technology to footwear – it finds its cousin in tevlar and is extremely durable.
They also added in a high end insole to make sure that their shoe provides comfort and support.
And last, but definitely most appealing, Calle threw in a bunch of style into their the Rilo so that the people who wear it don’t mind sporting it outside of a soccer game. With everything else they do, they created a base and sent it out from people. They factored all these things in as they created their final product.
Calle is “Street soccer gear designed to change the way the game is played.”
