Great Day of Soccer

The Great Day of Soccer is an event that was started over 20 years ago. It originally was only a skills competition for the players of SMSC to test themselves against their peers. Today, the Great Day of Soccer still has the skills events for all ages and genders of registered soccer players but is also a Division III only tournament for Girls and Boys, drawing teams from around the south. Through all of the years Coca-Cola has been the sponsor and organizer of the Great Day of Soccer. Coca-Cola determines the results and ranks the top ten individual players in each age group/gender, the top team scores based on the cumulative individual scores within a team and the overall highest scorer for Boys and Girls. Coca-Cola then holds an awards ceremony where the individuals and teams receive certificates for their accomplishments, shirts, plaques, and trophies dependant upon the level of achievement. SMSC has been the proud host of the Great Day and will continue to work with Coca-Cola for as long as we exist to ensure that the Great Day of Soccer remains an event that is fun for all the participants.
